Athens Area Pagans, Inc. will be hosting the Fortune Teller’s Tent at Terrapin Brewery’s 17th Anniversary Carnival on Saturday, April 6. Here is a link to Terrapin’s event page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/2070179783273972/

We will be offering Tarot readings and other Psychic/Magickal services and our proceeds will got to support Athens Pagan Pride Day 2019. We did this last year and it was one of our most successful fundraisers ever. If you are interested in participating as a reader or providing some other relevant skill, or would like to help in other ways (selling tickets, helping set up/breakdown, etc.,) let us know. We would arrive to set up at 3:30 p.m. and the event formally runs from 4:30-8:30 p.m. (note: we can’t promise anyone will be at Hi Lo that evening for a regular meeting as such at Hi Lo on this date, although if people who aren’t involved in the carnival want to meet up there, please do.)

AAP Open House on March 23

posted Mar 9, 2019, 8:08 AM by James Grimes

Athens Area Pagans Inc. will be holding an Open House of Athens Area Pagans on Saturday, March 23, 10 am-midnight. Come any time you want. Stay as long as you like. See the Big Circle. See the Community Garden. See what we’re planning and hoping for the future. There will be a slightly-belated Ostara ritual at approximately 3 p.m. Maybe an Eostre Egg hunt. Maybe a dance party. Divinations, Magick, music, all things that could happen, in a mellow spring afternoon way. Come hang out with us. We really want to meet you all. But, because our secret club house is also somebody’s home, we’re not going to publish the address on Facebook, so if you want to come by, either send a PM or join our email list on Yahoo.com by clicking Member Resources on this page and choosing "Join the conversation." If you can't make it at all during this time, please let us know days and times you can make it.  We plan to do more of these, at different times and days, and it will help if we know what days/times are good.

HELP! WE NEED HELP!

posted Oct 2, 2017, 3:32 AM by James Grimes

Dear friends and supporters of AAP and Athens Pagan Pride Day,

We love putting on Athens Pagan Pride Day, but putting it on is not always easy. Not only does it cost a certain amount of money, as has been mentioned before, but it also involves labor. On the day of the festival, we have to load a large amount of stuff into various cars and trucks, take it down to College Square, set up 2 large tents, traffic barriers, and signs and organize and distribute our material. Then we have to run the festival which consists of lost of fetching and carrying, money-handling, record keeping, question answering and more stuff. And then, as it gets toward midnight, we have to break it all down, load it back on to trucks and cars and take it back where it belongs. And we take a lot of pride in leaving our venue in better order than we found it.

There are only 6 or 9 people who show up regularly and some have physical limitations and some of us (ahem) are getting old. What I’m saying is WE REALLY NEED HELP. We need volunteers to help us load, unload, set up break down, fetch and carry and generally do the ordinary work that goes into putting on a festival.

If you can and will help us next Saturday, Oct. 7, please let me know. We will begin loading up about 11. We will begin closing College Square and setting up at 1 p.m. The festival proper begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 10. We have to be completely and absolutely gone by midnight.

If there is anyone out there who is willing to lend a hand at any of these time periods, please let me know by replying to this post or emailing me at embreisoldfather@gmail.com.

Blessed Be, Jim (Embreis), Volunteer Coordinator.
