.Charles Ambrose, Farhad Shivji and Shafik Fazal were among the first ten scouts to be awarded the President's Scout badge by the then President Ali Hassan Mwinyi in August 1992 at Magila, Tanga, the site where Lord Baden-Powell, founder of the scout movement, enrolled the first Tanganyika Scouts in 1938
Ali Hassan Mwinyi was the president of the United Republic of Tanzania from 1985 to 1995.
