The 2017 Stryker Art show was judged by Sue Hurst, a retired art teacher from the Archbold area.  She was very impressed with the body of artwork she had to judge from and awarded the following:

1st place:  Kim Stuckey   Blue ceramic coil pottery with mosaic glass

2nd place: Hannah Tucker  "An Experiment in Vibrancy"  colored pencil drawing

3rd place:  Kira Pettit  pastel drawing of double self portrait 

Honorable Mention:  Kim Stuckey  Black Teapot

Honorable Mention:  Caitlyn Lyons  Paper twists drawing

Honorable Mention:  Anna Heeres   " Its My Nature" drawing

The art work was on display during the week of May 8-15th.  If you missed the art show, look forward to visiting the Williams county fair Stryker school booth in September.

Congratulations to 2017 Scholastic Art Entries!

In January, Stryker Art students were given the opportunity to enter in the scholastic Art Show.  Our students as well as other students from the northwest region submitted 3028 works of art and writing to the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.  Of these works, they awarded this year 307 gold keys, 192 silver keys and 157 honorable mentions.  Our Stryker participants were Anna Heeres, Kira Pettit, Hannah Tucker-Gaoiran and Cody Moser.  In total, these four students, submitted 7 works of art and one of the artworks received an award.  Hannah Tucker-Gaoiran received an honorable mention for her colored pencil artwork titled "AnExperiment in Vibrancy"  Her artwork will be placed on exhibit at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art for the 2017 high school Scholastic show that will open with a ceremony on Feb. 12th and the exhibit will close on April 9th.
