Going back into my childhood I recall that I loved fairy tales, drawing and making crafty things all from my very vivid visual imagination. Adding to the fact of being handicapped with hearing loss I further found support in my drawings for expressing and communicating myself.
After starting school, art and home sewing, knitting etc. always were my better subjects especially when doing school projects. In my early teens art was becoming a forerunner to creating a direction in my life, though I was not aware of this but my lovely mother did, particularly after she suggesting to enter an Australian wide art competition and I achieved being first prize winner. Her wisdom put me in a good stead for an obvious choice of a career. At sixteen left school earlier (my mother's suggestion) to study as an apprentice with then a current fashion designer only to find further down the track to diverse and enter an art college and completing a graphic art diploma. All this done by the age of 20 years. Progress my art working through a commercial art studio, a newspaper department, T.V station and ending up in a government body doing visual arts and moving upwards as a display/exhibition designer/artist for the next 16 years. Meanwhile through attending sewing and painting classes, as a hobby, learnt further skills in all areas of both designing crafts and about the fine arts. Even my writing skills were becoming evident. Retrenchment came in the early 1990's of which made me restock my life's direction and though I ended up working in respite care for the next several years, my art was closely pursuing me in teaching others to encourage them finding their own creative talents. Now days in the age of technology and trying to catch up in understanding and ultilising computers with presently studying a digital media course but still in the midst of creating as I am always appreciating art in its many forms to add discovering through being a dot artist for a spell which then was finding the time enjoying my art on a larger scale. Now in my mature age years with developing interest and gaining knowledge in spiritual/astrology matters hope to prosper in employing my skills combining my art/craft making/astrological symbols in creating my passion into an artform product & finding joy and working/teaching as a full time designer artist.
I would love to be challenged by anyone with an inspiration that they would like to develop and need a helping hand or guidence or teach you how to generate that idea into an art form.
