Putting Caring and Commitment into Action

Assistance League of Southwest Washington's volunteers coordinate and carry out programs serving the community. In 2014-2015 we put caring and commitment into action in these ways:

  • Reached out to more than 1,000 students by providing them new clothing, shoes, backpacks and literacy items through Operation School Bell®

  • Provided sponsorships to 250 children whose families could otherwise not afford the fitting of orthotic devices or the cost of early intervention services.

  • Served a growing need by providing new clothing for children 10-18 as they enter foster care - often with very little to wear.  We helped clothe 500+ children

  • We contributed more than 13,000 volunteer hours representing a contribution of over $300,000 to the community.

  • We returned more than 65% of our budget funds to the community.
  • Gave Assault Survivor Kits® to three hospital Emergency Departments to ensure that women and children who survive assault may leave the emergency room with new clothing and toiletries to help start the healing process.
Our regular meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month.  We socialize at 9:30 a.m. and start our meetings promptly at 10:00 a.m.  We meet at Innovative Services Northwest, 9414 NE Fourth Plain Road, Vancouver, WA.  If you are interested in attending our meetings, please send an e-mail to: or call 360-690-1253.
