About Steven

Steven Fletcher went to the University of Manitoba where obtained his engineering degree and, after his accident which left him paralyzed from the neck down, an MBA. Steven overcame adversity and persevered through traumatic injury with the belief that public service was how he could best give back to a city, province and country that helped him to live and to heal.

Over more than a decade of public service, Steven rose to serve in Cabinet and supported the economic viability of the services and infrastructure we rely on, and did so throughout a period of unprecedented change in the Canadian and Global economy. Steven worked to bring our hard-earned tax dollars from Ottawa back to Manitoba.

Brian Pallister asked Steven to run in Assiniboia given his legislative experience and his loyalty to local constituents. Steven, alongside an increasing number of voters in Assiniboia, believe the time has come to put an end to unbearable hospital wait times, bottom-of-the-pack educational results and irresponsible fiscal management.
Why I am Running

I am running to become the Member of the Legislative Assembly in the Manitoba constituency of Assiniboia. For the last 16 years the NDP has made a mess that is going to take more than a rookie to fix. It’s time for a change! The Brian Pallister PC Team and I have the Government experience and expertise to get Assiniboia, and Manitoba back on track.

During my 11 years as Member of Parliament for our area, I have come to know the people of Assiniboia as constituents, friends and neighbours. I have worked with you to obtain funding for the St. James Arena, Silver Heights Community Centre, CentrePort infrastructure and many other local initiatives.

I have gained a wealth of experience as a federal Cabinet Minister that can help Brian Pallister and the Progressive Conservative team implement a Better Plan for Manitoba. With your vote I can put that experience to work for Assiniboia in the Manitoba Legislature!
