what is the best makeup brand - Stylistics-Best Of
Vinyl version of the Stylistics first "Best of" album. Classic, love drenched soul featuring "You Are Everything," "Break Up to Make Up" and "Betcha By Golly Wow!" A million seller for good reason.
This is an early collection that gathers the group's hits up to 1975. While they continued to make the charts (albeit sporadically) for another decade, the Stylistics' golden years had drawn to a close by the time this record hit the stands, so almost all of their key tracks are here. Best of the Stylistics Vol. 2 and All-Time Classics cover different bases, while Greatest Love Hits is a theme compilation with some overlap. Yet another compilation, Very Best of the Stylistics, largely has the same material as the Best of... package. For an exhaustive selection of the group's best work, you'll have to go to the original albums. Top picks: The Stylistics, Round 2, and Let's Put It All Together. --Gavin McNett
My Color Me Badd Audition Photo
AKA my Good Mail Day Swap Survey Thingie! Which holidays do you celebrate, if any? Thanksgiving is my fave holiday EVER and I also celebrate Christmas. In general, Winter is a big holiday for me, I love it when the weather cools off and am a little sad I live somewhere that isn't super snowy and cold. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Decorating our tiny house with mostly handmade ornaments I've collected or made myself over the years. Hot chocolate & walks around the neighborhood to look at lights. Dinner, wine & board games on Christmas Eve. Watching Holiday Inn and White Christmas over and over. Singing Christmas Carols and changing the words to be about my dog. Wearing scarves. For New Year's, are you a party animal or quiet night at home type? Quiet night at home with some champagne, knitting, and DVD watching. I can barely stay up til midnight these days! What drives you banana hammocks about the holidays? The whole insane shopping/traffic/parking trifecta of madness and despair. What's your "comfort" when getting "through" the holiday season? Crafting? Eating? Drinking? :o) Wine. White wine. Hot chocolate. Simple and soothing knits. Walks with Sampson, my mutt. Hot toddies. Hot buttered rum. (I sound like a total boozer, but I'm not. Always.) Holiday foods you like Anything involving sweet potatoes. Deep fried turkey. Fresh cranberry sauce. Awesome Christmas brunch type stuff, like fritattas and bacon and homefries. MMMMMM BACON. Mashed potatoes. All the traditional American holiday stuff. Anything pumpkin. Holiday foods you despise Cranberry sauce out of a can. Fruitcake. Marzipan. That ambrosia/jello salad stuff. Eggnog. Foods you can't eat (allergies, etc.) No gluten, please. Which makes me so sad...this is my first holiday season without stuffing/dressing! That is my all-time fave holiday food, and I'm sorry, I just do not believe it tastes the same with GF bread. I'm also really super duper allergic to lavender and mohair and I are not on friendly terms. Favorite yarn(s)? Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool &Hempathy, Cotton Fleece, Malabrigo Twist. Anything from Meg at Twisted Fiber Arts. Fleece Artist Merino 2/6. There are yarns I have been dying to try that I haven't been able to get my hands on yet like the lovely Quince & Co. stuff, Madelinetosh, and anything by Sundara or The Plucky Knitter. I like natural fibers and rich jewel tones. Really, I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to yarn! Crafty pursuits - knit, crochet, spin, sew, quilt, any of these or others? I knit and crochet, but am much better at knitting! I'm a complete sewing novice but want to get better. I don't spin but love handspun yarn. I consider myself pretty crafty...I tend to see things and think "I can totally figure that out and make it myself" and usually try it. I have a handful of autoimmune diseases which make me tired a lot of the time, so my crafty mojo has been lost for several months, but I've been feeling lots better recently and suddenly want to knit ALL THE THINGS. Hobbies/pursuits/proclivities/passions (other than the aforementioned crafty ones, obviously) Reading, cooking (but not baking...I'm a disaster when it comes to baking), anything involving words/wordplay...love scrabble, etc. Photography (I'm a beginner but I love to take pictures and look at things in different ways), science, science fiction, Darth Vader, riding my bicycle, meditation, natural medicine, the 40s & 50s, vintage hair & makeup, glam rock, movies, dogs (specifically, mine, but I am a dog magnet and love them all!), music in general. I collect all things owl and am obsessed with foxes. What do you do in life? (job, career, school, family, etc.) I live with my fiance, Brian, and our dog, Sampson.
B & I have been together for just about 7 years and one of these days plan to run off and get married.Just kidding! We ran off and got married on Nov. 12!!! I work for a non-profit that deals with early childhood education where I oversee a team that manages child care provider compliance with the contractual obligations our program requires. Most of my family lives on the West Coast of the US which is where I am originally from, but my sister and her brand new husband live here in Tallahassee and Brian and I spend a lot of time with them. I am a band widow...B is a musician who plays many instruments and is currently in two different bands here in town. I miss my family and friends on the West Coast terribly, but I love the life I have here in Tallahassee! Random favorites -- books, movies, tv, genres, ice cream flavors, time of day, etc. I love coffee and tea, I tend to go back and forth between the two and right now am in a phase where I drink several cups of both a day. My fave tea is Earl Grey, the more bergamot, the better. I love all things citrus. I tak
Lately, I’ve been reading a TON of doll collectors complaining repeatedly about the same old thing regarding Barbie. Complaining on her being a princess and/or mermaid and even going on to say that if any doll looks ‘ugly‘, wearing pink, or poorly designed, they “looks like Barbie” WTF? If she's so ugly, then why does she continue to have a loyal fanbase that spans over 5 decades? I notice that they are apparently only looking beyond one of the divisions of her brand, the theme dolls. The dolls that are clearly aimed at and cater to the toddlers who can't get enough of the fairies/magic/fantasy/etc and have no problem with molded fashions or the disproportioned heads and repeated makeup. Take a sec and look at the various other divisions of the brand, like the major fabulosity that is SIS (who have been wearing designer fashions from the beginning along with everchanging hairstyles) and Barbie Collector (The Barbie brand at its absolute best), or even the Fashionistas (fab shoes, bodies, and hair accessories). Frankly, I find it these complaints irksome, perhaps because I'm very familiar with all the levels of Barbie and her capabilities. If the division annoys the heck out of you, ignore it instead of repeatedly saying what you hate over and over and focus on the things she does that you like. She’s been around for 50+ years and isn’t getting any deserved credit these days for what she's doing her best at. She’s not JUST a princess, a hero, a muse, or fashionista, she’s does it all and that's why we love her! Rant over! ;)
