Vegan Salted Caramel Macchiato


For the salted caramel sauce:

6 dates, pitted and soaked for at least 1 hour

1/2 cup hot water

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt

For the latte:

1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

` tablespoon vanilla maple syrup

1 espresso coffee pod

2 tablespoons salted caramel sauce




Make the salted caramel sauce by combining dates, hot water, vanilla, and salt in a high powered blender. Blend on high until completely combined and set aside.

Combine almond milk and maple syrup in a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Heat to desired temperature then froth.

Build latte by spooning 1 tablespoon of salted caramel sauce in the bottom of desired glass. Add ice then pour in frothed almond milk + maple syrup mixture.

Make espresso coffee pod according to machine directions (I used my Nespresso machine). Once done, pour into glass.

Drizzle about 1 tablespoon more of the salted caramel sauce on top of the latte and enjoy!
