Caitlin Nelson worked as a part-time OPS student and received an associate in arts degree from TCC . Currently, Caitlin is enrolled in FSU to pursue a BS in biology.
Caitlin briefly worked on the bacterial diversity in soils that are primed for organic plant growth and increased productivity, which is a collaborative project with VirginiaTech. Part of the samples she processed were collected from landscapes of disturbed and undisturbed environments. With the use of procedures; such as BIOLOG, PCR, and DGGE; the differences between bacterial diversity can be analyzed that will eventually be used as bioindicators of soil health.
