About Me

"Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid only of standing still." Chinese Proverb

I’m a qualified and BACP-accredited (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) counsellor with a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling. This means I am able to draw on a range of different approaches including psychodynamic, CBT and person-centred theories as a way of understanding my client’s relationships and their difficulties. Like more and more people, I too have benefited from counselling at more challenging times in my life.

My background is in Education where I taught English as a Foreign Language/English for Academic Purposes for many years. I am now involved in the teaching of counselling, which I find very rewarding. Alongside my private practice, I work for Sutton counselling service that deals with GP referrals and has a specialised refugee service, and I am a student counsellor in a university counselling service. Past work includes Kingston Hospital, The Maya Centre for Women/Domestic Abuse and the mental health charity, MIND. I have wide-ranging experience of working with people from a range of backgrounds and with many different issues, including depression and anxiety, bereavement and loss, and trauma and abuse.

I am looking forward to meeting you and working together.
