My research is motivated by the grand challenge of how to feed the world in the 21st century while preserving human and environmental health. Within this framework, my current research focuses on agricultural pests & pesticides—both how to reduce demand for pesticides and the consequences of pesticide exposure for human health. For both of these research avenues, I use data-driven statistical approaches to add new insight to problems that have traditionally been addressed on a small-scale or through a single, disciplinary lens.

I am an Assistant Professor at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management (UCSB). Previously, I was a UC President's Postdoctoral Fellow in Matthew Potts' group  at UC Berkeley. I completed my Ph.D in  Ecology, Evolution & Marine Biology at UC Santa Barbara.
