Eero Saarinen Table - 32" Round Tulip Dining Table Over 50 years after its introduction, the Saarinen Table and other pieces from the Tulip Collection continue to be favorites of designers. Perhaps it is due to the clean-styled tulip base and top: simple and elegant. Or perhaps it is the endless amount of configurations that one can design the Saarinen Table with the tops and bases. Eero Saarinen's appeal has not been restricted to furniture. His architectural designs have had lasting impact on the American landscape. His provided designs to a wide range of clients, from schools to corporations to churches, each of them uniquely significant.

North Christian Church Columbus, Indiana The church was built in 1964 and was designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen. This church was the last building designed by Saarinen before his death. The building is hexagonal in shape, with a central spire which is 192 feet high. Below the spire, there is an oculus that admits light into the main level. The sanctuary is located at the center of the building, with the altar located in the center of the sanctuary. Rows of pews surround the altar in a hexagon, reflecting the idea that worship should be a central aspect of the life of the congregation. Source

One of my favourite pieces of mid-century modern furniture, the Saarinen chair. There is just something about mixing chairs and polaroid that makes me smile :) Taken with my new Polaroid Automatic Land 210 that I picked up at a thrift store for $14 with flash! I love it! Fuji FP-100c
