Welcome to the official site for Ashland High School's Model UN Club!

The Model UN Club engages students in a political simulation where people can experience diplomacy, debate, and conflict resolution. We discuss global issues, mimicking the actual United Nations, while learning and talking about various current events.

Our club meetings consists of a topic and everyone representing a "country" while arguing for that country's opinions. Past debates have involved discussing denuclearization, the ideologies of the Syrian Civil War, and the perceived correctness of the World War I Guilt Clause. At Conferences around the area, we replicate this with delegates from other Model UN clubs.

  • Meetings are every Wednesday after-school from 2:45-3:40 PM in Ms. Hansen's room in the History Hallway
  • We typically do new debate topics every meeting. Check our social media for the latest updates! Contact us if you wish to become a permanent member (that needs to be added to our email list).
  • Feel free to join us in any meeting if you're interested in discussing global issues and talking about current events!
  • We provide many opportunities for students to attend single-day competitions around the area, multi-day competitions around the area, as well as a national conference (the location varies every year, but, possible locations have included Los Angeles, CA and Miami, Fl)! We even take pride in hosting our own conference, MetroWest MUN ; feel free to click the button below for more information about our own hosted conference!
