Four Ashford 8th graders, Michael Varga, James Potter, Ron LaMonica, and Jordan Parent completed their health community service project at the school spring concert on May 25th. After two years of money raising efforts they presented to the school
Fiesta , a kinetic sculpture created by Ashford artist David C. Roy.

This community service project is the citizenship piece of the character education curriculum by Martha Hardisty. It encourages students to understand the importance of giving back to their community. The boys decided on this project at the beginning of their 7th grade year and earned money by hosting many after school arts and crafts workshops for other students. The sculpture has been mounted on the wall of the main office where it can be seen and enjoyed by students, staff and parents.  Congratulations to Mike, James, Ron and Jordan.
