Ashford School, as fiduciary, in partnership with the School Readiness Council, is applying for the Connecticut State Department of Education School Readiness Grant for fiscal year July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.
School Readiness funds may be used to purchase spaces for preschool children from NAEYC accredited center-based programs or programs seeking NAEYC accreditation, including for-profit or not-for profit preschool programs, public school preschool programs, Head Start programs, and state funded day care programs. Local qualified NAEYC accredited center-based programs or programs seeking NAEYC accreditation have the opportunity to apply for funding to add additional spaces to their preschool program. Interested, qualified, local preschool centers should contact Sharon Kozey at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information by April 9, 2014.
This public notice is in accordance with the requirements of the application for competitive school readiness municipalities (Connecticut General Statutes Sections 10-16o through Sections 10-16r and Sections 10-16t through 10-16u).
The School Readiness Council plans activities and events that help provide parents and children with information about resources available regarding the transitions that occur during the early childhood years. The council consists of members of various service agencies throughout town including Ashford Youth Services, Babcock Library, Board of Education, school administration and faculty, local family day care and parent representatives.
