ASGARD Math 2018:
Real algebraic geometry and tropical mathematics

University of Oslo, Norway
May 2 - 4, 2018

The ASGARD Math meetings are yearly meetings aimed at bringing together mathematicians interested in algebraic geometry, commutative algebra, discrete mathematics, and related fields.
In 2018, ASGARD Math will take the form of a workshop with basic mini-courses and talks on real algebraic geometry and tropical mathematics.

Students and young researchers are particularly encouraged to participate.

Johannes Rau (Universität Tübingen) - Tropical methods in real algebraic geometry  (exercises)
Kristin Shaw (MPI Leipzig) - Algebraic geometry of matroids

Marcel Celaya (Georgia Tech) - The topological representation theorem for oriented matroids and signed Bergman fans
Boulos El Hilany (MPI Bonn) - Signed counts of real simple rational functions
Alina Pavlikova (Université de Genève) - Linkages and coamoebas
Mario Kummer (TU Berlin) - Convex hulls of canonical curves
Matilde Manzaroli (École Polytechnique) - Construction of real algebraic curves on the quadric ellipsoid
Jorge Olarte (FU Berlin) - The space of presentations of Stiefel tropical linear spaces
Marta Panizzut (TU Berlin) - K3 polytopes and smooth tropical quartic surfaces
Benjamin Schröter (TU Berlin) - The correlation constant of a field
Egor Yasinsky (Moscow State University) - Finite groups of birational automorphisms
