About Us

Ascension Rays Baseball was founded in August, 2009 - a tournament baseball organization based in Gonzales, LA.  At that time, the organization consisted of a single 8U coach's pitch team led by 3 very dedicated daddies.  In the fall of 2011, those daddies selflessly handed the team over to new management and a group of volunteer coaches - solid baseball guys with no sons, nephews, or even a relative on the team.   In the spring of 2013, the organization was expanded to include two 11U teams, Ray-Blue and Rays-Gray, made up of 21 players and 6 volunteer coaches.  The teams experienced tremendous success - a combined record 76-28-1, 6 tournament victories including Grand-Slam State and Global World Series championships.  This success led to even more community interest, so in the fall of 2013 the Rays added a 10U team and another volunteer coach.

The mission of Ascension Rays Baseball is to teach our players life lessons through competitive baseball.  We strive to provide opportunities and exposure while competing at the highest level possible.  We hope to instill the concepts of discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and honesty. Ascension Rays Baseball teaches our players to respect the game, work hard and play the game the right way.   Our players are predominately from Ascension Parish, though we do have representatives of Livingston Parish and Baton Rouge.  Ascension Rays Baseball is established as a 501(c),(3) non-profit organization.

We play most of our games in tournament formats in the Greater Baton Rouge area. On most spring/summer weekends, you will find us at Stevens Park, Cypress Mounds, Denham Springs North Park, or other local baseball venues.
