ALPHA

Rev. Larry Jameson, Brenda Wyatt, Vicki Schultes

Asbury United Methodist Church in Harrington is offering
the Alpha Course on Tuesday nights
starting at 5:30pm on September 8, 2015.

What is Alpha?
"It's a world wide cultural phenomena" said Larry Jameson, the Pastor at Asbury.  The Alpha Course started in an Anglican Church in London more than a decade ago, and now it has been embraced by thousands of churches all over the world.  For twelve Tuesday nights this fall Asbury Church will offer a free dinner, show a video series on the basics of Christianity, and encourage participants to talk in small groups about what they heard.  "There is no such thing as a stupid question" said Rev. Jameson.

Every participant receives an Alpha Course Manual for free.   Newcomers who want to join the class, even after several sessions, are welcome.  Children are welcome at the meals, and then child care is available during the video & discussion times.  "If I could sum it up in a few words" said Rev. Jameson, "I'd say that Alpha is all about accepting people as they are, and giving them a chance to learn about Jesus without a lot of religious or denominational stumbling blocks."  To find out more about Alpha at Asbury visit www.harringtonasbury.org or call the Church office at 302-398-3390.
