Employability Seminar at AIT Palakkad, 23 Oct 2017

A session on how an engineer can be an apt employable candidate with the help of Dist Employability centre, Palakkad.
Session in our college seminar hall was addressed by Ms. Neethu Balakrishnan from Palakkad. Most of the students have expressed their pleasure in organising such a useful programme.

Orientation 2017; Seminar at Aryanet College.

On account of new admissions, AIT has arranged the Orientation session on Monday 31st July 2017 at the college seminar hall.

First session was lead by Engineer Nandajan, B.Tech, MA (Philosophy), MBA, MCA, M.Sc(Psychology). It was very helpful on the evolution of engineering to the usefulness of engineering. How engineering can support in real life, how society can be taken into consideration while taking an engineering career, etc.

Second session was handled by Asst Commandant, KAP Police Battalion, Mr. Saji PN. He stressed the importance of social commitment, different perspectives of socio-cultutal aspects and the role of Janamitri police for common man.

Third session was managed by Excise Intelligence Inspector Mr.Satheesh. it was an eye opener for our students on the evils of drugs usage, role of police and Excise in leading a good society and some inspirational experiences in this area. 

College Principal extended vote of thanks and monentos to the invitees and the college policy on mobile usage in the campus, ragging prohibition, dress code and the importance of concentrate is academics. Also invited students to make the best use of college amenities like sophisticated library including digital library, physical education department, hostel facilities, transportation facilities and the tutorship facilities arranged in the campus.

Hope the seminar will enlighten our students and the college at large.

Award of Excellence for AIT Palakkad NSS Unit

AIT receives Award of Excellence in recognition of our outstanding contribution in raising a healthy community through the successful implementation of "PUNARJJANI MINI CAMP 2017", an unparalleled and first of its kind mission in the state floated by NSS Technical Cell.
Through the camp, the NSS volunteers of AIT reinstated the basic infrastructure facilities in CBKM GHSS and Primary Health Centre, Puduppariyaram, creating durable assets of worth about Rs. 19 Lakhs.

The award was distributed by Dr.Thomas Isac, Hon.Finance Minister, Govt of Kerala and Sri. Ibrahim Kunju MLA (Ex-Minister, PWD) in the award ceremony organized at PWD Auditorium, Kalamasseri, Cochin.

Sri. Syam Prasad G (NSS Programme officer AIT Palakkad) received award of excellence from Sri Ibrahim Kunju MLA (Ex- Minister -PWD) and NSS Volunteer Secretary Jithin K.

AIT Receives Honour from DMO, Palakkad

AIT receives Honour from District Medical Office, Palakkad for conducting one of the best voluntary blood donation camp at our college during march 2017, in which we donated 83 units of AIT Blood.
Thank you all Staff and students for the cooperation and support.  

Punarjani Project by AIT Palakkad NSS Unit, 24 - 26 Mar 2017

The NSS Technical cell unit 126 of Aryanet Institute of Technology, Palakkad conducted Punarjjani – Mini Camp from 24th to 26th March 2017. The camp was inaugurated by Sri. Narayanan (President, Puduppariyaram Grama Panchayath). Sri. Syam Prasad G (NSS Programme officer) gave the welcome speech, Sri. Narendran Mannazhi (Director Administration – AIT Palakkad) delivered the presidential address and Sri Sudevan (ward member), Smt Divya Das K (Associate Programme Officer) felicitated the function.

The maintenance and renovation works of CBKM Govt Higher Secondary School was taken as the project work for the camp. The following works were undertaken as a part of the project.
  • Computer maintenance works
  • Furniture repair
  • Welding of gates, doors and window
  • Wiring works
  • Bus Maintenance works
  • Plumbing works
  • Repairing of equipment
  • Painting works

Computer maintenance works:
The computer maintenance works were handled by the group of volunteers who were experts in the field of computer hardware. The work includes the repairing of SMPS, cleaning of Motherboards, changing the CMOS battery, overall troubleshooting of the systems. Moreover, a new networking has been made in a room for the internet connectivity. Apart from this, laptop has been repaired by the volunteers.                   
Furniture Repair:
During the “Punarjjani mini camp,” 23 broken benches and desks are repaired by the volunteers and also assured that it would be an asset for the school.

Welding of gates, doors and windows:
The gates, doors and windows were welded. Two gates were repaired and the doors and windows made reusable. The gate and door of the reading room cum stage were welded and made well structured.       
Wiring works:
The volunteers completed the wiring works of offices, staff rooms, kitchen and classrooms. The works include changing of tube lights, repairing switchboards, fan, light holders etc.   

Bus maintenance work: 
For the past two years, the school is having a bus which is not in a position to operate/start. The volunteers cleaned the bus by doing water wash, cleaning inner portion of the bus that includes the platform, seats etc. Apart from this, the maintenance of the engine and gearbox was done by the volunteers. The skilled labour helped in completing the battery service.
Plumbing Works:
The plumbing works were done in the toilet that includes maintenance of pipes, changed flush tanks etc.    
Repairing of equipment:
The different types of equipment like generator, motor etc were repaired and painted.  

Painting Works:
The painting works of the gates, windows, doors etc were done in the school. The washing and painting works of the walls were also done.

Aryanet Institute of Technology celebrated the Annual day 'Aryolsavam 2017' on 24 Mar 2017. The official function of the Aryolsavam began at 10.30 am as per the schedule with a prayer by the students. Ms. Harsha of S8 ECE welcomed the gathering.This was followed by the Presidential address by the Principal, Dr. M.R.Vikraman.The Chief Guest for the day was Sri. Mundur Sethumadhavan, Distinguished poet and Writer. He addressed the students in his typical style and made the audience spring to their feet by his poetic recital.  Er. Narendran Mannazhi, Director Administration, also present in the occasion. The stage was set for Variety Entertainments by the students, as they displayed their talent on the stage in front of a vibrant and enthusiastic audience.Mr.Vijay Krishnan of S8 ME delivered vote of thanks. Girish Neelakanta Iyer Assistant Professor CSE dept. organized the event. The College Day celebrations were officially closed by singing the National Anthem.

Hand-on-workshop On Design Thinking & 3d Printing, 22 Apr 2017

A one day hands-on-workshop was conducted on 22nd of April 2017 on Aryanet Institute of Technology, Mundur, Palakkad. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. A K Venkita Krishnan, Rtd scientist, ISRO. He is a man who played an inevitable role in the success of India’s Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM). He prepared the catalyst that controlled the burning rate of the fuel in the launch vehicle that carried MOM to Martian orbit. Mr. Girish N Iyer (Branch Counsellor, IEEE-AIT Student Branch) delivered the welcome address and Principal DR. M R Vikraman delivered the presidential address. Mr. Shabbir (CEO, Ionic 3DP), Singapore delivered the felicitation address. Memento was awarded to the IEEE members of AIT-SB who got placed in various companies by the chief guest Mr. A K Venkita Krishnan. Mr. Dhillu Thambi of Final CSE (placed in InApp Technologies, TVM) and Abhijith Girin of Final CSE (placed in Performatix Solutions, TVM) were congratulated by all. Special mementos were awarded to Mr. Shabbir, Dr.Du Xin Xin (Director, Ionic 3DP), Francis Regan (CTO and Co-founder Ionic 3D printing), and Xuming (Ionic 3DP).  As a token of respect a gift was awarded to Mr. A K Venkita Krishanan by the college Principal. Vote of thanks was delivered by Mr.Vishwanathan (Administrative Officer, AIT).
         The workshop started with an introduction to the area of 3D printing by Mr Francis Regan. He explained about various challenges they have faced while designing a 3D printer, which lead to the start-up company, of their own satisfying all parameters. They showed various articles that was designed through the 3D printer and also demonstrated printing a small key chain. The interacting session that made the students to clarify their doubts in person. The session then continued by Dr. Du Xin Xin, who is an automation expert and designer. He explained how the computer aided design of an article can be made. Hands-on training was given to the students. The training process started by creating 3D drawings, converting it to 3D printer compatible format (slicing), to setting up the printers and finishing the final prints. For every single step, the students got hands-on practicing opportunities, along with practical advices and experiences shared by mentors who handled the sessions from IONIC3DP. At the end of the workshop, the students gained how to transfer their raw ideas/concepts/designs into a real prototype through 3D printing. 
            Dr.Du Xin Xin who is the Director of IONIC3DP who is an automation expert, a passionate learner, designer and a hardware geek, finished his PhD from National University of Singapore. Mr. Francis Regan who is the CTO and Co-founder of IONIC3DP, an engineer by profession, thinker, programmer and a technologist.

           Nearly 35 students from various engineering colleges in Kerala attended the workshop and get benefitted. Certificates were distributed at the end of the workshop.

Hands-on Workshop on Android App Development, 8 Apr 2017

IEEE Student branch of Aryanet Institute of Technology conducted a one day hands-on workshop on Android Application Development on 8th April 2017. Dhillu Thambi (Former IEEE Student Chair), Midhun (Final CSE), Vishnu (Final CSE) and Arjun (NSSCE) lead the sessions. About 25 Students from various branches attended the workshop. The session started with welcome speech by Nikhitha (Secretary, IEEE AIT-SB) followed by taking "IEEE code of Ethics" presented by Aditya Nambiar (Joint Secretary, IEEE AIT- SB). 
The session concluded with the appreciating words from the branch counsellor Girish N Iyer for the members who attended and lead the workshop. As a token of appreciation Mr. Syam Prasad (NSS Program Officer) gave momentum for the students who handled the session. Vote of thanks was given by Vinay (Chair, IEEE AIT-SB). The highlight of the event was the participation of IEEE as well non IEEE members and non-circuit branch (ME, CE) students.
