“The Flow of Sensation and Perception” is the title of my series of artworks. I use fluid acrylics and glazing mediums to capture images by painting, pouring, and splattering paint onto canvases. I create mood in my work by using colors to indulge the viewer’s senses. Perception occurs in the interpretation of my realistic, abstracted subject matter, and non-objective works.

Angela's passion is photography with a focus on farm animals. She portrays ordinary animals (cows, pigs, goats and other commonplace animals) to show their real beauty and fun personalities. Having access to her sister's farm in New Boston, MO, she is able to capture the animals in a very genuine, fun and sometimes quirky predicament. Angie says, "The ability of the camera to freeze a moment in time and preserve it for others to view has always intrigued me."

Joyce was born and raised in Lewiston, Maine, then moved to Nashville in the 60's and resided there for approximately 40 years working as a legal secretary. After retiring from the legal field, and in order to get away from the fast lane of Nashville, she moved to a little town called Hohenwald, TN, where she has been residing since 2000. Having always loved art (in any and all forms), she began painting classes sometime in '01/'02 and has continued to paint on her own (taking classes intermittently). She is constantly discovering our world, filled with color and form, and interpret the beauty of what her eyes see. For her, painting is a way for her spirit to be free while her brush forms images in color which never ceases to amaze her.

Born in Mississippi, she became amazed at the beauty of the Southern Magnolias. This sparked her interest so then she started to research and photograph other species native to her home state. This in turn lead her to discover a talent that enabled her to develop a more unique and personal style of painting.
In 1990, she enrolled in the Bob Ross Certification Program at the Murfreesboro, TN campus. She became a certified instructor in Landscape and Floral techniques. After which, she enrolled at the New Smyrna Beach, Florida campus and completed her certification in Wildlife and Portrait. This development lead to a greater understanding of teaching and enhanced her life with her students. Painting and Photography
Anne Goetze has documented a certain pocket of middle Tennessee, Leiper’s Fork, for over fifteen years with her paintings and photographs. The radius of her beloved country has become smaller as suburban sprawl is now in full swing. Like her artistic mentor Dorothea Lange, who documented the farms and people of the Depression Era, Goetze also starts her work as an assignment and develops a series of visual images. As land continues to disappear she feels an urgency to preserve it. “We are all called to be good stewards of the land. It demands our respect and care. We are all dependent on it… mankind is a species also, and therefore it is the land that governs our sustenance.”

Mike Martino ~ Blue Fig Editions
Printmaker / Studio and Workshops
Mike Martino is a Nashville based artist who has been working in the printmaking medium for over 25 years. Mike has mastered many printing techniques to where he uses a variety of traditional and modern techniques to create his own unique style of hand pulled prints. Mike's work is driven from noticing images he sees in his daily life. They are often nuances that are simple observations; like the angle of a book on a table, the texture of tree bark, color of grass at sunset. He collects these images in his sketch book and adds notes to them much like a dictionary of images to be used in future artwork. When Mike starts on a piece of artwork he pulls from his "dictionary" along with his memory to create his images. His works vary from landscape & still life's to abstract space-scapes. Mike builds his composition as well as crops his images to limit the view and suggest more is going on. Suggesting to the viewer to continue the narrative story with their imagination. His work often includes monoprints making each a unique image. Mike creates prints that are a marriage of creative artistic elements and the printmaking process elements.

Oil on Canvas
My art began with drawing lessons in 2006. Shortly thereafter, I graduated to painting instruction. My art is tightly realistic. I paint in the old master style of layering paints and glazes.
One of my first paintings was selected as Best of Show - It's About Time Student Art Show, Pensacola FL, 2006. I was awarded First Place in the Wright Place Art Show in Pensacola FL - 2008.
Some of my art is displayed at Unique Arts and Antiques, Nolensville TN.

Watercolors and Ink
I do animation and write children's comics during my "day job" and have taken up watercolors recently. I've really enjoyed emulating the Art Nouveau style...and hope to continue to push the style more as my own style begins to push through.

Jennie Schut ~ Fly Forward
Oil Painting, Mixed Media, Encaustic, Bookmaking
As a painter, I perceive that there are many relationships active in a good piece of work, such as light and dark, smooth and rough, colorful and dull, space and illusion of space, abstract and concrete. These relationships exist to portray contrasts and diversity, without which, artwork would be boring and flat. This could be said of life as well. And it is in these relationships perhaps, that we find those transitory, beautiful spaces in which the dichotomy of contentious opposites are found flourishing peacefully, inhabiting a minute corner of the world for a transient instant.
There is also another leg to my work besides that of a working artist. I have written a book entitled Waking Up Grey: An Exploration of Creative Awakening, in which I take the reader on a journey of more heightened awareness of their potential to create. This is an 11-week look at the creative life and it includes journaling, creative experiments and spiritual exercises to recover lost creativity. I do groups and retreats centered around the creative recovery process.

Marcia Shelly ~ Maru Arts
Oil, Acrylic, pencil, mixed media, giclee enhancement
Every blank canvas is a puzzle, a puzzle to be solved because you have the idea in your mind. All the colors, the composition, the depth, the technique - it all sits in your mind. . . and then! It happens, it doesn't happen. It is just like a puzzle being put together - that color worked, that one didn't. And so you keep working the puzzle until it comes together.

Norb Skalski ~ Art Inc
Norb's work is driven by the core of human existence, emotion, and it's external presence. He's sees himself as a social critic who has developed expressionistic style in the context of Van Gogh, Picasso, as well as such abstract expressionists as Nolde, Kirschner and Munch.
Primarily interested in figurative art composition, he has always avoided easy moralistic judgements, preferring to explore primal human characteristics that become apparent to the viewer only after he or she has spent ample time considering them.

Pen and Ink
Former physician Don Stewart takes an intellectual, yet humorous approach to art. The artist’s preferred medium, a holdover from his academic past, accounts for the crisp detail in his whimsical drawings. Ballpoint lines bring out tones and textures unattainable with conventional pen and ink, allowing his fine black and white renderings come alive with hidden images and visual puns.
