Once again, the Shire of Hartshorn-dale calls upon all artisans to come to the Artisans’ Challenge and Display. Can you meet (one or more?) of this year's challenges? Bring your latest work and show it off and talk about it with other artisans. Got something cool you’re working on now? Bring it along and show it off as you share your enthusiasm. Issue or attempt a challenge.
Please tkae note of the unique start time for this event, which has been popular in the past -- 1:00. A light supper board (menu to be posted here) will be put out around 4:30. There is no feast, and those seeking heartier fare may wish to bring food to enjoy (or share). If cooking is your art and you wish to contribute item(s) to the food offered, please contact the head cook in advance to allow for planning.
Anyone can issue a challenge ... check out the information here.
As they are issued, the challenges will be listed here.
Those taking up challenges are encouraged to contact the challengers to let them know.
Artisans are encouraged to register with the coordinator ahead of the event to ensure display/work space. If you require anything special (large display area, electricity, a “messy acceptable” area), you MUST register ahead of time to allow for planning. For those not registering in advance, space for display/work will be allotted on a first come first serve basis. Plan on spending some time with your work (other than when you’re browsing other artisans’ displays), to talk about it. The sanctuary will again be available for performance based arts.
Athena's Thimble will be having a meeting and expect to hold a panel. Other guilds or groups wishing to schedule a meeting, please contact Elizabet Marshall (see below).
All attendees are encouraged to bring personal tokens to distribute to those works that speak to you. Some tokens will also be provided at the gate. There will also be a supply of comment cards available, though you are encouraged to discuss your thoughts with the artisans. The Display is not a competition, and it is not a judging situation, it is a time to share and enjoy.
