Art in the Alleys Project

Welcome to the Art in the Alleys Project
Murals are now underway.

The Art in the Alley Project is a grassroots community collaboration that seeks to transform and beautify back alleys into colorful gallery spaces in time for the upcoming Riverwest ArtWalk.

Many homeowners have offered their doors to have murals painted on them for this project.
If you are an artist interested in participating in this project, visit the Garage Door Master Page to find a site you are interested in.
If you are a homeowner and would like to see examples of all the artists involved in the project, please visit the Collected Works page, which shows samples of past works from the artists. If you are interested in a specific artist, click on their name below to see examples they have submitted for review.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped clean and weed the alleys and get them all spiffy-looking for ArtWalk!

We have completed connecting artists with homeowners in this exciting project. If you are interested in getting involved in 2008, please email
Artists paint while volunteers help clean up the alleys              Riverwest ArtWalk, 2008 We marched through the alleys, tuba, shakers, & cowbells                                                                                                              in hand!

We were greeted on the way by Riverwest's scooter mascot.

We all got magic beans.          The kids were happy.           Even the one who couldn't join us                                                                                                                                       because he couldn't cross the street.

Thank you to Sherwin Williams on Brady, Brady St. True Value Hardware and National Ace Hardware for paint donations.
