Planting Flowers, Pulling Weeds: Identifying Your Most Profitable Customers
Introduces a powerful, ten-step approach to forging strong, life-long relationships with any company's most valuable customers
Two former Dell executives turned Fortune 500 consultants reveal the incredibly successfully, ten-step program they instituted at the world's number-one PC manufacturer for finding profitable customers, building and maintaining lasting relationships with them, and allocating resources based on their bottom-line value: the Direct Impact Growth System. Rubio and Laughlin use fascinating and instructive case studies based on their experiences at Dell, Xerox, Citibank, Mercedes Benz, Braun, and other top international firms to demonstrate the system in action and its phenomenal results.
Janet Rubio (Austin, TX) led Dell's direct marketing and catalog programs and oversaw its 20 million dollar promotional budget. In 1998 she founded Direct Impact, a top national marketing agency specializing in helping companies accelerate and control growth.
Patrick Laughlin (Austin, TX) left IBM, where he was the company's top-ranking salesman, to join Dell as a marketing manager. At Dell, he developed a range of sales programs and customer evaluation tools.

EXPLORE #97 ?! April 16th, 2010 ? Thank you SO much ~ still smiling ;D !! Kandice and I made our way to Bob's Greenhouse this morning. The Gerbera Daisies won us over, so we brought home an even number of 8 to get us started. Our day was filled with dirt-digging, weed-pulling, mulch-spreading (14 bags ;-o), and flower-planting ?. You know I love to mix it up a little ~ so I dialed the saturation in a few directions to land here ... they were originally pink ?. Have a sweet Thursday evening, my flickr friends ?.
plant & reap
plant & reap
If you plant honesty, you will reap trust. If you plant goodness, you will reap friends. If you plant humility, you will reap greatness. If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment. If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective. If you plant hard work, you will reap success. If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation. Your heart is a fertile place. So, be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later.

Gardeners' World: Flowers: Planning and Planting for Continuous Colour
Over two years the professionals at Gardeners' World created a series of beautiful flower gardens from a disused playing field in Birmingham. Here Toby Buckland reveals how you can adopt the tried and tested methods used at Gardeners' World to create your own year-round flower garden in this beautifully illustrated guide to the flower gardens at Greenacre. Split into achievable front and back garden plots, the Greenacre gardens accommodate a range of designs, aspects and plant-types, from a luscious twilight garden for evening scent and nectar-filled bee border to attract beneficial wildlife, to a hardy coastal garden to show what you can do with very dry soil. Toby talks through the concept, planting and maintenance requirements of each garden, describing every flower in full and assessing the environmental benefits of each one. And he expertly demonstrates how to make bespoke feature projects such as cobble paths and bee boxes. Filled with stunning flower photography and expert guidance, this inspirational and practical book is the culmination of two years of gardening at Greenacre and enables lovers of flowers to bring a little of the Gardeners' World magic to their own gardens.
