Obstetrics and Gynecology

Care of the mother and unborn baby throughout pregnancy and delivery is offered by solo practitioner thoughout the entire antepartum period. Appointments are available as early as six weeks after your last menstral period for normal and high risk pregnancies including patients with advanced maternal age, gestational diabetes, hypertension, preeclampsia and opioid use disorder.  Early pelvic ultrasounds are done in the office to confirm pregnancy. All blood collections including chromosomal screening for sex chromosome abnormalities, Trisomy 21, 13, 18, and genetic carrier testing is performed in the office to reduce stress and the need to schedule appointments at an outpatient labortatory. Vaccinations recommended during pregnancy are offered to patients and given in the office.

Care of the female patient thoughout all stages of life.  This includes areas such as puberty, menopause, contraception, pelvic infections, vaginal and labial infections, precancerous lesions, endocrine disorders, hormones, infertility, sexual dysfunction and breast disorders.

A wide variety of birth control methods are offered including hormone contraceptive pills, the patch, the monthly or annual ring, and depo provera shots. For longer term birth control, the Nexplanon implant and Mirena, Liletta and Paraguard intrauterine device (IUD) are available.  Permanent sterilization methods such as laparoscopic tubal ligation can be performed.

Infertility evaluation and treatment of problems with conception and childbearing can be offered.  Ovulation induction with oral medication can improve chances of conceiving.  Surgical correction of abnormalities can also be performed in certain circumstances.

Urinary incontinence can occur at any age and can be treated through medication as well as physical therapy referrals, pessary placement and surgical options.

Due to a drop in estrogen during menopause, many women experience bone loss.  Appointments are offered to discuss osteoporosis screening, prevention and treatment.

If your BMI is over 30 and after bloodwork evaluations, there may be medications that can aid in achieving your weight loss goals.

In the months or years leading up to menopause, you may have symptoms such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, sleep problems and mood changes.  There are effective treatment options available including hormone therapy.  Continue to schedule appointments during and after menopause for preventative health care and medical concerns.

For many common gynecologic conditions, minimally invasive surgery is an option.  These procedures may include diagnostic laparoscopy, endometrial ablation, excision of endometriosis, hysterectomy and pelvic organ prolapse repair.
