I offer beginning to intermediate piano and guitar lessons in the Portland-Metro area to students of all ages. I also teach ukulele, which I found to be a great instrument for small children to learn on before moving on to the guitar. I mainly teach children and have experienced that lessons are most productive when my students are over 5 years old.

I'm a graduate from UCLA with Bachelor's Degrees in both Musicology and Philosophy and am an active member of the Oregon Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association. I have been teaching since 2007.

My primary instrument is the guitar. I've studied guitar for over 20 years, and play both the acoustic and electric guitar.

I've played piano since I was 8 years old and have used it mainly as a tool to compose music and play in bands. I find myself playing more piano and, who knows, it may take over the guitar as my primary instrument.

I'm a big fan of all styles of music. I have been known to blare pretty obscure tunes, from atmospheric tracks, to jazz, classical, and electronic. I've played in bands of varying styles, from rock, to alt-country, and from blues to jazz, and have my own project featuring melodramatic sounds and textures. You can listen to it here.

I'm fun, friendly, family-oriented, and create an environment where my students feel comfortable to play music, talk about music, ask questions, and most importantly, learn their instrument.

We can have lessons at my studio near NE 70th and Glisan, or more conveniently, at yours.
