'Spirit of Adventure' and 'Quest for Adventure'

Between 2009 and 2013, when adventure cruising came to an end, I was very lucky to be given the opportunity of teaching Water Colour Painting on the 'Spirit of Adventure' and 'Quest for Adventure' cruise ships.

This involved visiting some very exciting places all over the world, with every trip being special in its own way.

I greatly enjoyed teaching on both ships and was always pleasantly surprised at the large numbers of people who chose to turn up for the painting sessions and the enthusiasm and interest shown.

I taught the traditional techniques of water colour painting and structured the course so that it was suitable for everyone, from the absolute beginner to the experienced artist.

Whenever possible I worked from observation, finding the things I needed on the ship: bottles and glasses from the bar; fruit and vegetables from the kitchen; the stunning flower arrangements from around the ship; and the skies and seas outside. I also used images that related to places we visited.
