Stephen Black uses kway as a symbol for Tiong Bahru. His presentation touches upon history, sculpture, gentrification, innovation, identity, flavorings and calories.

Since I 've lived in Tiong Bahru, I've enjoyed many things, especially the food. After a period of time, I realized that kway was a sort of symbol for  what is unique aout Tiong Bahru. These colorful little foods seems to be disappearing. With this project I intend to create a pleasant and informative community-based artwork related to the work of identity.
Besides information and visual artworks, I am now finalizing the technical isssues necessary so that I can create a kway shaped like a fingerprint.
The fingerprint-shaped kway is expected tp be ready by the18th
The inspirations for this project include Ferran Adria the chef/food artist as well as Joseph Beuys. This project is ongoing.

I am collaborating with  the kway makers at Lim Lam Hong.
