Celtic & Appalachian Music http://celtibillies.com/
A Virginia based acoustic group whose music explores the connections between Celtic and Appalachian traditions.
Joining Celtibillies onstage will be not one, but two dance troupes that will further illustrate the connections between Appalachian and Celtic cultures. The Green Grass Cloggers excel at the high kicking Appalachian style of clog dancing, and the Irish step dance group Rince na h’Eireann (pronounced rinka-na-herron) features champion level competition dancers in the style of Riverdance. “We love to include the dance element in our performances,” says Jack Hinshelwood of the Celtibillies. “It sends the energy level of a show through the roof. And it helps us illustrate the connections between these two traditions, which really are remarkable.”

Yet no matter how hard he strives he just isn’t satisfied with the sound of any of the instruments playing alone–until he comes to the aid of the orchestra’s conductor and discovers his true calling. Kimberly Schroeder takes on this musical and literary tale with a jaunty, vivacious score!
