Children's  Pottery Class begins  Tuesday, March 7 at 4:00-5:30.  The 6-week class will run
each Tuesday for 6 weeks with last class being Wednesday, April 12.  The cost of $80.00 includes everything to make,  glaze and fire several finished pieces.

Introduction to Pottery Series

On August 14, Kim Ruff began her adult pottery class series at the Art Center.  Students were asked to bring an apron to protect their clothes and a water bottle.  

Class instruction and all supplies are provided for $35 for a two-hour session.  Kim offers three classes this fall:

September 18:  Make a 3-legged cup and a picture frame.
October 9:  Make a coiled pumpkin cup.

2016 Classes

First Saturday is Needle Craft Day, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
 Needle craft is hosted by Candace Bush on the first Saturday of the month.  Do you like to knit, crochet, quilt, tat, embroider or weave?  Bring your needle craft project to this free event at the Art Center and join in the fun of sharing or learning from other crafters.  Stumped on a project?  Bring it and someone can offer help.

Saturdays (starting January 16-February 27)  11-12.  DRAWING CLASS with Marilyn Smith.  Ages 16 and up.  Cost is $12/per week.   Students need to bring a 12 x 18 drawing pad.

     Barbara Yon will teach a collage class at the Art Center on Saturday, July 16th from 10-1 for $30.  The students may bring items to put in the collage if you like.  Supplies will be provided.  Call Barbara Yon to reserve a spot @ (803)685-5396. 

The fall series of Dip N' Splash begins September 1, 6-8 p.m., with "First Glimpse of Fall."  Students will each paint a 16" by 20" acrylic on canvas. Children’s Christmas Workshop - December 5th, 10 – 12

We welcome children ages 5 and older to join us for an arts and crafts workshop where we will make several Christmas ornaments that you can use to decorate your tree or give as gifts. Children’s Collage Workshop - November 21st, 10 – 12

We welcome children ages 5 and older to come learn about the art of collage. We will complete at least two collages focusing on the Fall season and Thanksgiving. Saturday, November 14, 9a-1p and 15, 1-4p.  Pottery Workshop.  Tom Supensky will teach a two-part workshop.  His clay sculptures are hand built using the coil method of construction.  His work can be viewed on his website at  $45 fee.  Ages 18+.

Saturday, October 10, 9-3.  Beginning Encaustic Wax Workshop.  Joanne Crouch, instructor.  $75 includes most supplies and tools.  Limited to 6 students.  Ages 18+ Students must pre-register.  Encaustic wax painting is the practice of painting with layers of wax.  Each layer is fused with the former layer with a heat gun or torch.  Attendees will experience numerous demonstrations and will be encouraged to complete at least 3 pieces.

Saturday, August 29, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. What A Hoot Pottery class for ages 8 thru adult. Donna Minor, instructor.  $35 fee includes all materials.

 Students will learn how to make and underglaze a clay coil pot with owl features. The studio will then bisque fire and clear glaze and fire the finished works for pickup the following week.

 Gabbie Hen Gourd Painting Class, Joanne Crouch, Instructor
When:  Saturday, January 31st 9-12
Where:  Art Center of Ridge Spring
Cost:  $35 for all supplies

Students will use a medium-sized gourd, epoxy clay and acrylics to make their very own Gabbie Hen.   She can be matched to any color scheme.  She will be painted in background color of choice and adorned with repetitive shapes until filled.  There is no limit to the possibilities.

Saturday, April 12, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.  Rustic Easter Basket class; Donna Minor, instructor; $35 fee covers all materials; adults and children 10 and older.  

Saturday, May 10, 10 a.m.-noon.  Dip N' Splash special event for Mother's Day -  Mother-Daughter Casual Tea.  Learn to paint a small canvas as a part of this social event honoring mothers.  $40 fee covers all materials for painting and tea and cookies for both mother and daughter.  Space limited to 6 mother-daughter pairs.
