               HORSE CAMP

"Extended Group Horse FUN Lessons"

 Not just your typical one hour horse lesson!

< Pico, our colt, will soon be a year old and is almost as tall as his mom! Born May 14, 2013


We have had a great response to this new choice in camp FUN days.  Experience grooming, bathing and caring for a horse, equipment and barn, plus group riding lessons each day.  Take breaks during the day with games or cooling off with a swim on hot summer days, and you have a child's dream FUN day!

$50/day with a limit of 3 participants per staff member

Aug 4-5, 10 am - 1:30 pm  


If you have a child who thinks they want a horse, now is your chance for them to learn what is involved.

For all sessions there is a $20 once-per-year registration fee per child  (valid for all Art and More lessons and activities)

                       Additional Options                      

I have a few tentative days set aside if there are enough students to need more camp or horse sessions: July 1, 2, 3, 8, and 9.  I also am willing to schedule private FUN days if you would like to schedule with only your own friends (minimum of 6 students) on any of those dates or others. Email to check my schedule.


 3-5 Year Old Art/Play Day 

I have had requests for younger children and will create some days if I get enough interest.  Call and let me know if you would like to get a group together. This can be scheduled/taught at the Mistlin Gallery if you prefer.


   School Year Activities

  Art Project Fridays  

Email if you are interested and we will schedule some dates at the Mistlin Gallery.

Come learn to make a special project, such as sand candles, tooled metal, handmade paper, wood burning, and more. Class will be 1-1/2 hours (3:30-5 pm) for $12.

Pictures and details will be posted as dates are confirmed.


Saturday Equine, Art and More FUN Days

ENHANCEMENT
Use it or lose It! This class will give you opportunities to 
challenge your brain through new experiences. Learning 
new skills is necessary to stimulate your brain, while visual 
and artistic exercises improve cognition. Don’t forget to

For the young children, July 21-25 is a week of Kindergarten art camp from 10-11:30 for ages 4-6 that I will be teaching along with artist Susan Kelleher at the Mistlin Gallery. Only $50 for the entire week! 

KINDERGARTEN ART CAMP
Bring the little ones and join the art teaching staff at 
Mistlin Gallery in a pre-K and Kindergarten age art 
class. Age appropriate, hands-on art activities will help 
your little ones get ready to start the school year with 
creativity and excitement. Students will learn how to 
focus, develop fine motor skills, and follow through 
on beautiful, inspired pieces of art. Supplies included.

Facility is located near Sylvan and Roselle Avenues in Modesto.

Facility Director

Owner/director, Cheryl Brown, has a Bachelor's Degree in art history and a Master's Degree in Art Education. She also majored in animal science for a year at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona where she took every horse class that was available, including English riding, horse husbandry, horse shoeing, and horse training. She also rode in the horse drill team, Hacienda Hi-Riders, which won ribbons for parades and was invited to the State Fair. She also served as a Jr. Counselor in the 4-H horse program.

Cheryl has over 15 years of teaching experience, plus several years camp experience through YMCA, Girl Scouts, and Christian church girls' camp.  See "Director's Background" (link is to the right on this page) for more information.
