    FUN Ranch Day Camps   

8th year at studio/ranchette near Enochs High

This year's camp weeks will have themes including:

Horse Camp - Have fun learning in depth about horse riding and care, then cool off with a swim or create a horse themed craft.  Unlike normal riding lessons, campers will bathe a horse, clean barn and horse equipment, and learn about breeds, colors, and horse culture.  Ages 7 - 17. 

Session 1, Tuesday through Thursday, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm, June 2 - 4     $150*

Session 2, Monday and Tuesday, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm, June 16 - 17       $100*

Fine Arts - For those into really improving their painting and drawing skills, along with, of course, horse rides, swimming and games. You will have some fine artworks on canvas suitable to be framed for a final art show reception for your parents. Then enter the February youth art show at the Mistlin Gallery!  Ages 7 - 17.  

5 days, 4-1/2 hours/day, Monday through Friday, 1-5:30 pm, June 8 - 12     $240*

Crafty Connections - For those more into cutting, stringing, and gluing. You will design collages, create your own clay beads and learn about patterns before stringing beads, and even create edible art!  Plus, of course, horse rides, swimming and games. Ages 5-10. 

3 days, 4 hours/day, Wednesday through Friday, 10 am - 2 pm, June 24-26    $120*

Optical Illusion FUN - Have fun with the art and science of optical illusions, along with our horse rides, swimming and games. Ages 8-15.  

3 days, 3-1/2 hours/day, Monday through Thursday, 2 - 5:30 pm, June 30 - July 2     $110*

Create-A-Camp - Gather a minimum of 6 friends and choose your own focus areas of art/fashion/science/extra horse time/sports. Plus, choose length of day from 3 to 4-1/2 hours. Of course, horse rides, swimming and games are available.  $10/hour per camper*  (Some projects may require an additional materials charge.)  Any ages.

Available any days, Tuesday through Thursday, mornings, July 14-16

Build-a-Thon - Over 3 days, make a variety of 3-dimensional creations. Be eco friendly and build with recycled objects and natural materials, including clay.  Plus, of course, horse rides, swimming and games. Ages 7-13.   

3 days, 3 hours/day, Tuesday through Thursday, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm, July 21-23     $90*

Pre-School Camp - By parental request, I am adding art experiences for this age. One-on-one, hand-led, horse rides are included, but no swimming.  Ages 3-5. 

Choose 1, 2 or 3 days, 10 - 11:30 am, July 28 - 30    $50* for all 3 days or $20* for individual days

Puppetry - For the younger crowd. Create a variety of your own puppets and put on a show for your parents.  Plus, of course, horse rides, swimming and games.  Ages 5-11.

4 days, Tuesday through Friday Friday, 9 am - 12:30 pm,  August 4-7     $145*

NOTE: Ages can be adjusted--Call if you think your child would fit in.

Pre-School Art Camp, 1-1/2 Hours per Day

Pre-School Camp--Because of parental requests, I am adding art explorations for ages 3-5. One-on-one, hand-led horse rides are also included, but NO Swimming. Ages 3-5.

You may choose to join us for 1, 2 or all 3 days.

If enough parents want to participate, we can hire a swim teacher for parent/child introductory swimming lessons at the end of each day for an additional cost. 

Tuesday through Thursday, July 28-30

10 to 11:30 am     $50* for all 3 days, or $20 per individual day

3-D CAMP, 3 Days, 3 Hours per Day

Build-a-Thon--Over 3 days, make a variety of 3-dimensional creations. Be ecologically friendly and build with recycled objects and natural materials, including clay. Many games will be building related. The shorter day means shorter horse ride and swim time than other camps. Ages 7-13.

3-Day Camp, 3-1/2 Hours per Day

Optical Illusion FUN--Includes camper choices of multiple Art projects (with FUN visual science), Horse Riding, Games, and Swimming. Ages 8-15.

Tuesday through Thursday, June 30 - July 2

2:00 to 5:30 pm     $110*

3-DAY Camp, 4 Hours per Day

Crafty Connections--Includes collage, crafts, Horse Riding, and Swimming. Ages 5-10.

Wednesday through Friday, June 24-26 

10:00 am to 2:00 pm      $120*

4-Day Camp, 3-1/2 Hours per Day

Puppetry--Includes puppet crafts, story telling, and decorating a puppet theater. Plus Horse Riding, Swimming and Puppet Show. Ages 5-11.

Tuesday through Friday, August 4-7

9:00 am to 12:30 pm      $145*

5-Day CAMP, 4-1/2 Hours per Day

We have had a great response to this new choice in camp FUN days.  Experience grooming, bathing and caring for a horse, equipment and barn, plus group riding lessons each day.  Finish the day by cooling off with a swim on hot summer days, or a horse art/craft project and you have a child's dream FUN day!  Ages 7-17.

$50/day with a limit of 3 participants per staff member
Session 1, June 2-4, $150*;   Session 2, June 16-17, $100*    9:30 am - 12:30 pm

More Information

Facility is located near Sylvan and Roselle Avenues in Modesto.

Previous campers have returned multiple times--references are available.

Facility Director

Owner/director, Cheryl Brown, has a Bachelor's Degree in art history and a Master's Degree in Art Education. She also majored in animal science for a year at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona where she took every horse class that was available, including English riding, horse husbandry, horse shoeing, and horse training. She also rode in the horse drill team, Hacienda Hi-Riders, which won ribbons for parades and was invited to the State Fair. She also served as a Jr. Counselor in the 4-H horse program.

Cheryl has over 15 years of teaching experience, plus several years camp experience through YMCA, Girl Scouts, and Christian church girls' camp.  See "Director's Background" (link is to the right on this page) for more information.
