ROOM FOR RENT IN ARLINGTON

ROOM AVAILABILITY

Nice, large and very clean furnished room for rent in Arlington with separate entrance and private bathroom.

It is the basement floor of single house in a quiet and safe neighborhood, but at the same time very close to the town center with shops and restaurants, and very close to public transportation (it takes about 40-50 min to get to Cambridge/Boston from the house by bus/metro, much less with a bike or a car)

The house is shared with our family of 5 (parents and kids ages 14, 17 and 21 - now in college), however our family lives on the 1st and 2nd floor. We are both astrophysicists at the Center for Astrophysics (see websites below) and our kids go to the local high school.

This room is on the lower level and it is totally independent from our living area, however we share the area where the washer and dryer are.

The room has an independent entrance (with a door smaller than usual! - see photo).

The room has no access to a full kitchen (but there is a large sink in the laundry room to wash dishes - see photos).

In the room there is a fridge/freezer, a microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster, a rice cooker, a slow cooker, an Actifry (http://tfalactifry.com/), a 30" TV (larger than the one in the photo!) and an espresso machine!

The Actifry (check the website!) is a small appliance that a previous postdoc suggested we buy. It allows to cook very nice warm meals (but not boil pasta!).

There is a large walk-in closet.

There is access to washer and dryer (which they are shared with us). All linens are provided.

There is an outdoor small patio in front of the entrance, with access to a charcoal barbeque grill.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

3 minutes walk to bus 350 or 10 minutes walk to bus 67. Both go to Alewife which is the last stop of the metro Red Line (going to Harvard, MIT and MGH)

15 minutes walk to bus 77 (the direct bus to Harvard Square) or bus 79 (another bus to Alewife).

15 minutes walk to bus 80 (the direct bus to Tufts University)

Easy access to the Minuteman Bike Path (10 minutes to Alewife, 20 minutes to Harvard Sq. by bike).

On-street parking available if you have a car.

Rental includes all utilities (electricity, water, heating, local calls, internet, weekly cleaning and final cleaning) and it is as follows:

$500/week

MAY-OCT $1000/month ($1100 for 2 people)
