Smart Energy Network Lab aims to develop the key technologies for smart grid utilizing the distributed energy resources (DERs). Battery energy storage system and information technology are deployed to achieve the efficient and secure operation of the energy network. Our current interest includes operation logic of the energy management systems, controlled aggregation of the DERs, and the reliable operation of the electrical grid using the DERs. The lab students are disciplined to be skilled not only with the power system but also with the smart grid technologies such as S/W engineering, modeling and optimization techniques.
Qualification Summary ü Have expertise in battery, power system, and system engineering. ü Over 15 years of in-depth experience in various fields of system design. ü Best PhD dissertation award from the University of Tokyo, 2012 ü His IEEE paper has been cited more than 1000 times, since 2010 (Click here for google citation) ü His book received Best Scholarly Book Award by Korea Government, 2009 ü His biography has been registered in Marquis who’s who 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 ü Elected to International TOP100 Scientists by the International Biographical Centre (IBC), 2013, 2015 ü Council Member of Gerson Lehrman Group, Expert of the Battery System, since 2009 ü Received Best Paper Awards from multiple international conferences (See publications list) ü Special strength in analysis and optimization using tools and mathematical techniques. ü Experienced mass production engineering of HEV between Mitsubishi and SK (2010-2012) ü Fluent in multiple languages (Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese) and have good communication skills.
