In September 2018, I am joining Wenlan School of Business at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (China) as an Associate Professor in Economics.

At the moment, I am an Innovation Specialist (Behavioral Economist) for Sustainable Development Goals at UNDP Armenia. Previously I was a (tenure track) assistant professor in Economics at Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, China, the research director at CRRC-Armenia, an adjunct lecturer at Agribusiness Teaching Center and the American University of Armenia and a postdoc fellow at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. On top of academic activities, I serve as a consultant for such development organizations as KfW and UNDP.

I obtained my Ph.D. in Behavioral and Experimental Economics at the Graduate School of Economics and Management at the University of Venice, Italy (defense 18.07.2014). During my doctoral studies I also spent a visiting research period at the Economics Department at the University of Innsbruck, Austria and conducted research-related activities at the Economics Department at the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. Prior to doctoral studies I received MA in Quantitative Economics (double degree) from the University Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, France and the University of Venice, Italy as well as BSc in Economics from Yerevan State University, Armenia.

My research is interdisciplinary and spans the boundaries of economics, sociology and psychology. My current focus is on a) other-regarding preferences, b) interdependent (relative) preferences, c) decision making in social dilemmas, d) behavioral aspects of taxation.

I have published at such peer-reviewed journals as Review of Development Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics and Social Indicators Research.
