Sunday 18 June 2017

Armed Forces Day is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.

The Bognor Regis Armed Forces Day event will take place on Sunday 18th June, in Waterloo Square/Pier area from 9.30 – 5.00 pm. A road closure on The Esplanade, from West Street to Waterloo Square East, and including Waterloo Square West, will provide an area for exhibitions and displays, entertainment and the Drumhead Service which will start the event.

Those involved will include young people from local cadet groups, serving personnel and veterans. Organisations who support service and ex-service personnel will be represented and displays will give an insight into some of the conflicts that have involved our Armed Services, including Aden, The Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Cadet Groups and other youth organisations will provide displays and information that showcase what they have to offer young people. There will be musical entertainment, flying displays and various tombolas and displays. This is a wonderful FREE all day event for the family to enjoy.

The day will begin with the Drumhead Service at 10am, followed by the presentation of Veterans badges and medals. There will be a re-dedication of the HMS St Barbara memorial – did you know that the Pier was a ship during the war? Come along and find out more.

A full programme will be available very soon
