The 21st Annual ARMADILLO conference will take place at Texas A&M University - Commerce September 30th - October 1st, 2011. External speakers will include Roddy Roediger and Kathleen McDermott of Washington University. See the Members page to see the email list for the ARMADILLO group. It is a work in progress, so if your name is not listed, please email the webmaster.
This year's conference will piggy-back with a conference by the International Society for Humor Studies, associated with the International Journal of Humor Research, edited by Salvatore Attardo, professor at A&M - Commerce. We look forward to the potential for cross-fertilization of research ideas between the two conferences.
Call for papers and posters ended August 31st.
We will have 4' x 8' bulletin boards for posters. Two posters can be attached to each side, which restricts size of each to 4' by 4'.
ATTENDANCE FEES: same as last year, if you are a student: $25. If you have a Ph.D.: $50. Also, if you would like to eat lunch or dinner Friday, please send an additional $30. We will have plenty of good catered food for both meals, and restaurants are somewhat limited in Commerce, therefore we recommend that you partake in both lunch and dinner to socialize with everyone! If you need vegetarian dishes only, please email curt_carlson@tamu-commerce ASAP.
We are not set up to take credit cards, so please mail a check (made out to Texas A&M University - Commerce) to the below address. Please write "ARMADILLO" somewhere on the check so it ends up in the correct account, but still make it out to Texas A&M University - Commerce. You can get a receipt from me at the conference, or if you would like it mailed to you, please include a stamped return envelope with the address to send it to.

Please visit this link to get a printed parking permit to use if you will have a vehicle parked on campus for the conference. You will need one for parking at the Student Center where we will host the conference. It is fine to park in the lot directly next to the student center (SRSC, #38 in the center of the campus map) - you'll see it on the campus map.
