The Five Reed Quartet is a four person ensemble that has a Bb clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, and contrabass clarinet.  The bassoon has a double reed which makes us have 5 reeds!  The ensemble performs free for charity and fundraising events in Chicago and suburbs.  The musicians have performed at cancer fundraising, the Arlington Heights Farmers Market, and recitals.  The Five Reed Quartet is also available to play for weddings prior to the ceremony at reasonable rates.

Performance selections that audiences will recognize include classical, modern, patriotic tunes, polkas, and film music.  The Beatles selections are featured in most performances.  The ensemble will arrange musical pieces to fit the event.

All four musicians are members of The Spring Valley Community Band performing at The Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg. Linda Steck, Deborah Efflandt, and Margaret Raab are also members of the DuPage Community Band that performs in the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, and the Lisle Community Band in the summer.  Ken Carlson performs for many venues including churches, polka bands, as well as playing in the Northwest Suburban Concert Band at Medinah Park District and surrounding area.  Deborah Efflandt also performs in the Harper Concert Band at Harper College in Palatine.

The quartet loves to bring the gift of music to the public and is looking forward to performing for you!
