LANGUAGE, LITERACY, AND SOCIAL ACTION IN GHANA

Language, Literacy, and Social Action

Children (ages 8-14) in rural areas of Ghana attend complementary education programs (CEPs) that develop mother-tongue literacy. Together with CEP facilitators and community leaders, the purpose of this workshop is to co-construct social action lessons. By utilizing active learning and collaboration, the breadth and scope of emerging literacies hold promise for learner and community empowerment.
