Rather than try and heal my critical Pista (it would have required a dangerous multiple transplant), I bought one of those $350 Merciers from Bikes Direct. The FIRST TIME I locked it up in the city, someone slashed both my tires. Stoked. It's box stock except for the pedals, tires and entirely superfluous Cinelli bar/stem combo. I've got a pair of chopped-down risers for it, too. And a King headset is on the way. Future changes include a Thomson post, a different seat (probably a Flite or an Arione) and maybe a slightly better (and all black) wheelset. Ellipses would be nice, but not if I'm gonna be locking it up. Ah well.
