Ok, so I'm totally happy now! Now I'm not only reloaded on hockey shots but they are "Blake Geoffrion: The Pro Years" hockey shots. Again not lined up quite the way I wanted it to be (or rather how I thought I had it) but it's harder to focus on right wingers (which he is now I guess). Goalies are easier...you kinda have a notion where they will be at all times. =) Took myself...ended up sitting next to season ticket holders. I said I was very excited about Blake and he's the reason I'm at the game...they said - WHO? I was just like wwwwhat do you mean who?? Oh that's a joke right - very funny. They say...no really who? I'm totally wide eyed and disbelieving...um Blake...Geoffrion (not a flicker of recognition) - you know he was a Badger...Hobey...Baker...hellooo, seriously?! Oh, yes I guess they heard something about that but they don't know anything about him. He's only here because Scatchard got hurt and they are none too excited about some nobody college kid. I just smiled and held my tongue (he's not some nobody college kid - he's the next big superstar in then NHL!), shrugged and went back to taking tons of pictures of him. You wait...you'll see. Pre game warmups they run this drill where after you shoot then you get a puck and pass to someone else....SWEET! I can totally zoom in on Blake and get some really cool shots of him....only NOBODY - EVER passed to him. All drill long we both stood there...ready. Waiting. NOPE. So, he just grabs a puck and practices some stick handling of his own over in the corner....course it was the corner I couldn't shoot, but oh well. Guess that means I'm being challenged and will have to get live game time shots of him without cheating. Game's about to begin: Starter!!! In only his second night as a professional hockey player. Course he skated to center ice on someone elses cue but hey he's overly excited and I'm not sure all that many people even noticed. The guy he skated out for didn't look very pleased, but he'll get over it. Although upon hearing that he was a starter my new season ticket holder friends were alllll WHAT! Oh I bet the other players are happy about that. I just ignored them. I know he'll prove himself he's worthy. Swweeet! Way to go Blake! Well about the time of his first goal of the evening they were starting to come around. By the second suddenly they had been huge fans of his since before he was even born!!! Go ahead and jump on my Geoffrion bandwagon...I won't even say I told you so! TWO goals!! On only 4 shots. That's a pretty good percentage. Suddenly I'm wondering if his days as an Admiral are numbered...how 'bout we go right up and play with the big dogs! Soooo, like do we have a deal yet? Yeah, I think he looked pretty good. Screw that he was totally impressive. Once his teammates started trusting him with the puck that is! You could totally tell he was the #1 target of the evening! He'd just get up, brush himself off and go score another goal. Awesome! Sooooo, over the next little while you'll see more Admirals shots...mostly of Blake...ok so maybe they are all of Blake. I'd watch the game and then when Blake jumped on I started shooting. Then, he'd head off and I'd take a break. Oh and I got to see Chelly too and have a couple of nice ones of him. I'll tell you all about my first Ads clothing purchase...how VERY close I was to getting an autographed puck by none other than Blake Geoffrion (still bummed!)...how I got lost just like I knew I would but found my way all on my own. But, not now...and I'm not uploading more than one at a time. I think each picture deserves it's own little moment in the spotlight. Go Blake GO!
