RV-10 Progress After 1 Year
RV-10 Progress After 1 Year
It's been a whole year! I'm pretty much on track with where I thought I would be at this point. I had guessed that it would take a year to finish the empennage kit and another for the wings. I'm guessing that progress will slow down soon, however, as I won't have the money to buy the next kit in a year if I finish the wings that fast. On the other hand, a lot of my money this past year went into flight training to get my pilot's license (so I can actually use this thing when I finish it). Now that that's done, maybe I'll have a bit more disposable cash for plane parts... The only change in coloring here is the red vertical stabilizer tip fairing, which I started making initial cuts on this month. The other big change here is more administrative; I found a new vector image for this skeleton diagram and used it to make a cleaner version, so now the lines are less aliased, etc. Took awhile to recolor the whole thing... :) As usual, green parts are complete, yellow are complete but not fully attached yet, and red parts are works in progress. Uncolored parts have not been started yet. As for why I haven't been getting much done on the plane in the last month, there are two primary excuses that I'm sticking with. First, I spent most of my free time and money this month finishing off my pilot's license (woo!). Second, the empennage kit is largely complete now, so I'm just waiting for the wings to show up. Next month probably won't show any difference in the progress diagram, if any work happens at all. I'll be on travel for a good portion of it, so don't expect much.
