Performance: 3 to 12 degrees centigrade lower CPU full load core temperatures than standard thermal compounds or thermal pads when measured with a calibrated thermal diode imbedded in the CPU core.

Important Reminder: Due to the unique shape and sizes of the particles in Arctic Silver 5's conductive matrix, it will take a up to 200 hours and several thermal cycles to achieve maximum particle to particle thermal conduction and for the heatsink to CPU interface to reach maximum conductivity. (This period will be longer in a system without a fan on the heatsink or with a low speed fan on the heatsink.) On systems measuring actual internal core temperatures via the CPU's internal diode, the measured temperature will often drop 2C to 5C over this "break-in" period. This break-in will occur during the normal use of the computer as long as the computer is turned off from time to time and the interface is allowed to cool to room temperature. I was getting a bit annoyed with getting 100+C temperatures in games with my 8800GT and the first revision cooler (Smaller fan, green PCB) so I finally noticed Arctic Cooling had landed with a new GPU Cooler to replace the S1 etc. It was on Halloween offer at Overclockers so I popped down and picked one up. Fitting it was a breeze, undid all the stock fans screws, pulled it off, cleaned all the RAM heat sinks, VRM's and the GPU and then rubbed everything that was to be covered in heat sinks besides the GPU with an eraser to help the adhesive thermal paste to adhere and then screwed on the heat sink. Pretty much that simple! Dropped my temperatures in game from 100+C to 60ish and from 71C idle to 45C. Fantastic thing and SO quiet, even when it spins up when you turn on the PC it is pretty much inaudible. I've also overclocked the GPU and RAM so speeds faster than the BFG OC2 and I will probably push it further.
