AQUALITY
Water Quality and Water Treatment in Zoos and Aquariums

What is Aquality?

It is the vision of Aquality to advance and support water quality and water treatment practices in zoos and public aquariums with a view to optimizing the environmental conditions of the plants and animals within their care.

Aquality is a voluntary organization coordinated and supported by public aquarium and zoo professionals.

The vision of the Aquality has been realized through three mechanisms:

1. Aquality Symposia
Periodic meetings of industry professionals to discuss the development, design, installation and operation of aquatic life support systems in zoos and public aquariums.

2. Aquality Manual
A single-reference handbook on water treatment and water quality monitoring in zoos and public aquariums.

3. Aquality Discussion Forum
An open discussion forum dedicated to any aspect of water quality and aquatic treatment systems in zoos and public aquariums.

The Aquality initiative is coordinated and supported by scientists, biologists, engineers, educators and practitioners concerned about the conservation and ethical care of all aquatic organisms.
