FAQ

Q:  What kind of t-shirt do we get?
A:  Runners in the kids' races and in the 5K Apple Dumpling Dash receive a standard t-shirt.  Runners in the 1/2 and full marathon receive a performance t-shirt.  Long sleeve performance t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts will be available for sale.

Q:  What about spectators, can they see and cheer the runners?
A:  The Omaha Trail crosses township and county roads frequently.  Many spectators keep track of their runners by driving ahead to one of the crossings.  A map will be available to spectators at the Elroy City Park.

Q:  Can I see the runners at the tunnel?
A:  Yes, you can.  BUT, you will need to go to Town Line Road and walk north on the bike trail about .7 miles (12 to 15 minutes) to get to the tunnel.  Make sure that you plan ahead.

Q:  What about bicycle traffic?
A:  The trail will be "open" to bike traffic and most runners will probably meet some.  The trail is not heavily used (like the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail), so there should not be any issues. Remember to stay on the right when meeting traffic and to allow runners/bikers to pass you.

Q:  How frequent are the water stops??
A:  The water/Powerade stations are located every one to two miles.  Most of them are on intersections of the trail with a township or county road.

Q:  What about bathrooms???
A:  Bathrooms will be spread out across the course about every four miles.

Q:  Is the course certified?
A:  Yes it is!!!

Q:  Is race registration allowed:
A:  Yes, you may register on race day:
Half Marathon registration is from 5:30 until 6:30.
    Marathon from 5:30 until 6:30.
    5K from 6:00 until 7:30
Kids races from 6:00 until 9:30.

Q:  What is the cancellation policy for a registered runner who is unable to participate:
A:  A race refund will be granted up to August 1 of each race year (you might not get your online registration fee back).  After August 1, we can transfer your registration to next year's race.

Q:  What happens if the weather is bad:
A:  Safety of everyone has to be the main concern here.  We will make every attempt to run the races.  However, we reserve the right to delay, shorten, or cancel the races because of dangerous, severe, or extreme weather and/or course conditions.  No refunds can be made in these situations.

Note:  Race day registrants might not get their t-shirt that day.  They will be re-ordered and mailed to you.
