iOS 6.1 is Out

Today, Monday, Apple released iOS 6.1 to the public. This update is compatible with all the same devices as the initial iOS 6.0 update. We wanted to clear up any confusion, since iOS 6.0.2 was only available for the iPhone 5 and iPad mini (as it addressed a Wi-Fi bug that only affected those devices). iOS 6.1 compatibility would include:
This update offers some enhancements and minor fixes. There are four notable improvements.
One, you can now purchase movie tickets through Siri if you have the Fandango app installed (and if not, it will offer to install it). If you ask her what movies are playing, and select a movie, at the bottom it should show you what times that movie is playing and where. Tap on this, select a theater and a time, and there should be a Fandango link. An example on an iPad mini is shown below:
Another notable feature is that those of you who subscribe to iTunes Match can now download individual songs from iCloud, rather than just the whole bunch.
Lastly, an option to reset the Advertising Identifier has been added. You are probably wondering, "What is that?"

These are the controls that appear on your lock screen upon double tapping the home button and allow you to adjust the volume or play/pause music right from the lock screen.
