Just like the rumors predicted, Apple announced two new iPhones today - the 4.7-inch iPhone 6, and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus. In addition to the larger displays, there are many other improvements, such as a higher pixel density (401 ppi for the iPhone 6 Plus). iOS 8 has also been fine-tuned for the new display sizes. For example, on the iPhone 6 Plus, if you go into Mail, there will now be two columns: the left-hand column will display your mailbox, and on the right will be the message you are currently viewing, just like previously seen on the iPad. It's very easy for developers to update their apps to accommodate the new screen sizes. In the meantime, the apps will just be stretched to fit the new screen.
In addition to the display, the battery life is equal to or better than the iPhone 5S, depending on the category (i.e. audio, video, Wi-Fi browsing, LTE browsing). By the way, LTE up to 150 Mbps (previously 100 Mbps) is now supported, as well as VoLTE (voice over LTE). There's 3x faster Wi-Fi capabilities, and Wi-Fi calling. And of course, it has a much thinner design, with a curved back and all aluminum. Apple will sell silicon and leather cases for both sizes. It has a new A8 processor and M8 motion coprocessor.
