Beezer and Haiku

Who'd have thought my pet project started way back in 2001 would still get traction today :/

Chris Roberts (aka cpr) has most graciously taken the Beezer source code and started porting it with cmake to Haiku. He's already got the thing compiling and running. He gave me a pleasant surprise with a screenshot earlier today on IRC.

The project is now hosted on bitbucket: https://bitbucket.org/cpr/beezer/overview (mercurial)

He's also been kind enough to give me admin/write access to the repository. So if I get the time i can contribute changes in as well.

This should come as luke warm news to those of you who've been asking me to get Beezer working on Haiku. Go crazy!

Once again, many thanks cpr!

Beezer going open source

Beezer will be open sourced under the BSD license soon. How soon? Probably tomorrow, probably next weekend. The source will be hosted on here on OsDrawer. Hopefully I can get it up and running for Haiku with the necessary fixes within a reasonable time frame.

Tschüss.
