D-Link DIR-825 B1
I decided to upgrade my old Linksys WRT54G with OpenWRT to the D-Link DIR-825 hardware version B1. I already had an IPv6 tunnel to work with the Linksys and transferring it to the D-Link was easy. The B1 hardware version of the DIR-825 is stable and works with Windows 7 and IPv6. My impression is that the router seems to faster than the old Linksys. The other reason to get it is for the capability to flash it with OpenWRT, or your flavor of Linux firmware. Though, the default firmware seems pretty decent with features already. I guarantee this will be the year of IPv6. The small window at the bottom corner of my monitor shows only 5 day left to pass out unused IPv4 blocks to requestors. There isn't anything else to pass out afterwards. Most routers are not setup to utilized IPv6. Are you ready for IPv6? Because, here it comes ready or not.
