Welcome to my homepage! I am the Chief Economist for Shriram Group and CEO, Shriram Research. Shriram Group is one of the largest financial conglomerates in India, with a significant presence across credit markets, insurance, wealth & asset management.

Previously, I served as a Chief Economist at Muthoot FinCorp, another large lending NBFC in India; as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Indian School of Business; and as Research Director at CAFRAL (Reserve Bank of India). I also spent a year as a visiting Assistant Professor of Finance at Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. I hold a PhD in Economics from Boston University, an M.A in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, and an MSc. in Financial Engineering from Birkbeck College, University of London. I am a qualified Chartered Accountant (C.A.) under Indian law and a CFA Charterholder with the CFA Institute, USA.

My academic and policy/industry research focuses on global macroeconomics, asset management, and financial intermediation.
