(006/365) December 4, 2010: My neighbor sets up his Christmas display
Brady, my across the street neighbor, has been adding little by little to his outdoor Christmas decorations. I walked over to talk with him today to get his permission to shoot him working in his yard. He was happy to let me, but it was hard because each time I'd go over he would be at the tail end of whatever he was working on or we would just end up talking. He's a really good guy despite his devotion to the Baltimore Ravens, but we enjoy ribbing each other over the Ravens and Steelers. This Sunday night they play one another and he'll be going since he has season to tickets to the Baltimore games. A funny aside, when I first moved here the Steelers beat the Ravens in a very soggy overtime heartbreaker. I baked him cookies and delivered them covered in a Terrible Towel. Specific to this scene my hope is that no one will steal baby Jesus in the manger scene. Two years ago someone did, but I suppose Jesus will take followers at any cost.

This was taken at the same location in Tacoma that has nearly every inch of their yard covered in outdoor Christmas decorations. I was focusing on the limbs of a rose bush along the sidewalk and got some interesting light bokeh in the shot as well. This abstraction fascinates me :-)
