Lily's Busy Day (Fairy Phones)
Toddlers will be delighted with this combination boardbook and toy cell phone. The front cover has a make-believe numbered key pad that's just like a real phone. Better yet, a big, round plastic button, securely glued to the book's last page, pops through a circular die-cut on all pages and appears through the front cover. When kids press this button, the phone rings, sounding exactly like a real cell phone. The book's story has cheerful full-color illustrations on laminated pages. It's all about kids who keep in touch with their friends--by phone!

Fairy Park is a cemetary. You wouldn't want to bring your family for picnics in the area. It's for the deceased. "So then... what the hell are you doing in the cemetery?" "Well, what’s wrong with me to be there in the first place?" *************************************************************************************************** BB Tan, a good friend of mine, he's more Sabahan than KLite. He moved to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, in Borneo Island many years ago. He came to KL to visit his father’s graveyard and did some cleaning. It is some kind of yearly ritual for him to be here for the purpose. Without fail, every so often, days before the trip, he'd call me up informing his time of arrival and am more than happy to entertain him when he's here.

The fairy was planned to be used for an AD - unfortunately it seemed to stay just an idea. I still like it (even if it's kitschy), so I want you to see it anyway. I drew it with pencil, later on I coloured and cleaned it up with my Wacom in Photoshop. (this ist just another version)

Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management: Abridged edition (Oxford World's Classics)
An almost forgotten classic though a founding text of Victorian middle-class identity,Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management is a volume of insight and common sense. Written by what one might now describe as a Victorian Martha Stewart, the book offers advice on fashion, child-care, animal husbandry, poisons, and the management of servants. To the modern reader expecting stuffy verbosity or heavy moralizing, Beeton's book is a revelation: it explores the foods of Europe and beyond, suggesting new food stuffs and techniques, mixing domestic advice with discussions of science, religion, class, industrialism and gender roles. Alternately frugal and fashionable, anxious and self confident, the book highlights the concerns of the growing Victorian middle-class at a key moment in its history. This abridged edition serves as a cookery book, while documenting a significant aspect of Victorian social and cultural history.

About the Series: For over 100 years Oxford World's Classics has made available the broadest spectrum of literature from around the globe. Each affordable volume reflects Oxford's commitment to scholarship, providing the most accurate text plus a wealth of other valuable features, including expert introductions by leading authorities, voluminous notes to clarify the text, up-to-date bibliographies for further study, and much more.
